I always want to be involved in real estate but it began in a very peculiar way. While finishing up my four year degree at University of Waterloo in the urban and regional planning program; I responded to a real estate job posting in the Spectator in January 1982. I was graduating in April and wanted to be employed. Ralph Schmidt from Montreal Trust called me back for an interview. This interview changed the course of my life. He painted the picture of real estate as a service to help people and make a difference. To be your own boss with unlimited potential. As a young 22 yr. old starving student, it all sounded great to me. The next day I enrolled at Conestoga College in the Real Estate course and completed the 3 segments of the real estate course as well as my degree by April 1982.
I embarked in my new career in August 1982. The market was experiencing difficult challenges. Mortgage rates were 29% and the average home price was $30,000. Homes were extremely difficult to sell. There was a surplus of homes on the market because many people could not afford their homes.
As a new graduate, I had student loans and no car but a lot of ambition. I found my niche in the market and it was calling expired listings, homes that did not sell. Since I did not have a car initially I would make calls and talk to people and did very well listing many homes. I worked 12 to 14 hour days farming the neighborhoods from Upper Sherman to Upper Gage, walking up and down the streets introducing myself as their new agent. In the evening I would call expired listings. Eventually I got a car, with the help of my parents who gave me a loan. The first decade of my Real estate career was done on my own working at Montreal Trust. I worked hard and was able to buy my first home at 24 and then a condo investment property in Mississauga. It felt good to be able to help people and be rewarded financially.
The second decade, I made a shift from the busy single real estate agent to the married family agent. Craig joined the business in 1992 and brought a whole new dimension to the business with his marketing background, Team Bush began. While our family grew so did our business. We have developed a team approach where each person has their own expertise. (See the bios of our team on our website.)

Coleen and Craig have been married for 28 years. They met when Craig was living in California and carried on a 10 year long distance relationship until Craig’s job (Sales Manager. of a Dutch Multi-National Firm) allowed him to transfer to Ontario in 1987. They married a year later. Together they have 3 children; 2 daughters, who are now married, and a son.
In 1992, Craig became a licensed REALTOR®. Craig holds a California University Degree in Business Administration in Marketing. Together Coleen and Craig utilize their diverse business, sales and marketing experiences to help folks accomplish their Real Estate goals.
Craig handles outside sales, creating and enhancing the marketing systems which make our team successful. Craig is also a Real Estate Coach, teaching and sharing his experience with our own team as well as other Realtors eager to grow their businesses throughout N. America.

Heather is an avid runner having completed a full marathon, several ½ marathons and the Around the Bay Race. Born and raised in Ancaster and is a Mom of 3 grown children.
